"Myself, my daughter and our elderly dog stayed here for a week in early summer. A beautiful setting in an idyllic and peaceful location. The perfect place to get away from it all. The host met us when we arrived and had already got the fire going in the cottage. The accommodation was comfortable and our dog loved exploring outside. "I have stayed at the Royal Victoria Hotel on a few previous occasions over the past 15 years. I was really looking forward to returning - and as soon as I walked in I felt good about being back. And I wasn't let down in my expectations- the check in was pleasant and easy and when we got to the room we we were really impressed with the space and mountain view (first time I had tried the 'executive' room option - it was worth it) We dined at the bar restaurant that evening and the food was good, and again the staff very pleasant. Breakfast next day was busy as a coach load of departing guest seemed to be bustling to eat up quickly - but even so, the staff did a good job of keeping everyone happy and served on time. We stayed at breakfast a bit longer and enjoyed a slower breakfast and thought the food was very nice - especially the quality of the bread. We chatted to the staff a bit too - who were all very friendly. In all - I consider that for the very fair price asked for a nights stay, that the hotel provides a really very pleasant experience for staying in the area. Absolutely would plan to return some day."
