"This is not for folks who like sparkling new, fancy hotels. Reeds Bay Hotel has no air conditioning, but the breezes are amazing, the fans keep the air flowing, and you're at the water's edge. The rooms are very quiet, and the hotel is located close to the airport. I will definitely come here again."

I love staying at the Dolphin Bay Hotel because it is unique and well-maintained and always clean. "We loved loved this property. It was clean, loved the fact they offered house slippers as well as outside slippers. We spent more time out on our full beautiful balcony more than in room. Beautiful landscaping. You can tell they take pride in the rental home. It’s was quiet and laid back for my husband and I. Maid service was awesome. We stayed on that side of island cuz it was my local, and just drove to tourist areas when we wanted to do stuff. Zoo was free and gorgeous, rainbow falls was free...

"We had a good stay at Magic Skies. The property seemed to have a nice atmosphere with the different spaces and room themes though there were some areas undergoing maintenance at the time of our stay. We didn’t end up having the breakfast service offered but it seemed reasonable. Though overall was an enjoyable stay with a good location."

"I stayed at Aaron's cottage for two nights and it was a great experience. The cottage was cozy, equipped with all the amenities you could need. It had AC, fans, hot water, a comfortable bed, a kitchenette and full bathroom. The place is easy to find and there is a nice beach within walking distance. The place is ideal for staying in the Hilo area or for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, or drive to the top of Mauna Kea (4WD required). "Kelly was a great host, and breakfast was very good. House was located down a quiet gravel road. Area felt safe, and host had everything you would need. House was very clean and inviting. Local information was given for our visit to Kilauea. Snacks and drinks were made available."
