"Second time staying at Cardinal Zen. We love it. Plenty of space for adults / couples with five king bedrooms each with own bath. Family room and outdoor porch are big enough for all to sit comfortably (and have great fireplaces). Dock is perfect for sunny afternoons (and canoe/kayaks great too). Lake Toxaway is beautiful. Our family enjoys the upper lake for its quiet and stillness. We highly recommend."

"The accommodations were perfect. The unit was newly renovated and beautifully done. The only problem was it snowed very hard when I was there and didn’t get to enjoy any of the amenities they offer due to being closed for ice on the roads. You pay for the amenities card as part of your booking, but everything was closed and no possibility of ever using the card. I called and asked for a refund for the amenities portion and got some excuse that wasn’t acceptable. I hate it, but I’ll never book...

"Overall, we were just amazed at this beautiful property. Very spacious and well appointed. We would have given a hands-down 5 stars had it not been for initial mechanical and electrical issues. Lamp bulbs burned out, lamps not working at all, no electricity in master bedroom for our first night - outlets, lamps, ceiling fan and tv had no power. We were also disappointed the sliding glass door from the master bedroom to the gorgeous balcony was broken and could not be used for our stay. We...
