"This property was basic but perfectly comfortable and in a stunning location! The lane to the property was very over geown and unfortunately my husbands car (which has low clearance) was unable to get down it. But the owner soon dorted an alternative for us. The neighbours ford focus had bo problems so i would say this wont be a problem for most! Access down to views over the estuary and walks from the house was great. No wifi but perfectly good signal for 4g - or a good excuse to go off grid....

"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. "The caravan was very clean on arrival. The host had left cleaning products for us. The beds were made and also extra bedding. Clean towels were available. The host called before we arrived to let us know she had left ice lollies for the children and some crisps. There was also things like ready meals, tea, coffee, sugar and sauces. Also a bbq to use. "

Great little place to stay, I had the studio accommodation and it was very well stocked with fresh bread, milk, butter, jam, biscuits, chocolates, cakes and the kitchen was well stocked with stuff like the simple things like tinfoil which are extra things a lot of places don't do. Credit to the team here, the rooms are lovely, warm and well maintained. The extra touches with the food is a great idea and very welcome. "The Studio was well-equipped although a tight fit in places like the kitchen and toilet. The lounge, TV viewing area and bed were good although we did not use the TV. There were plenty of books and games to use during the stay. "A lovely homely cottage, comfortable and well equipped, with a rather special riverside location offering views and privacy. Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. We only had a short stay but got a lot in , including a trip to Wivenhoe on the riverside opposite. Will definitely rebook next time we are 'out East' ."

"The cottage was lovely and had it's own parking space which was handy. It was a bit chilly when we got there but we just upped the thermostat and it was very warm within about 10 minutes. Great location in easy walking distance to Aldi and an M&S food and restaurants. The owner left some basic food including some UHT milk. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is the shower - which seemed to go from boiling hot to freezing cold and back again, so I had a bath instead!"
