Stone’s throw Cottage is located outside the town within a 30 minute walk of Koroni center, either along the beach or by road. Just 5 minutes or less by car.
The property is a safe, secluded haven, set amongst an olive grove with direct access to a peaceful, uncrowded beach.
The house is fully equipped to allow for a very comfortable and relaxing stay, putting guests in command of how much they interact with the local community.
The cottage is detached and can sleep up to 6 people using the bed/settee in the living area.
There is a bedroom with a large double bed with very comfortable mattress. A good sized wardrobe and cupboards and this bedroom has air/conditioning.
The slightly smaller bedroom has twin beds with a fan for coolness in the Summer months. Both bedrooms have sliding doors with insect screens leading onto the side balcony with steps down to the garden and beach.
There is a shower room with w.c., basin and shower where water is heated by a solar panel...also a washing machine for your use . All towels including beach towels are provided.
In the living/kitchen area is a bookcase with a good selection of books, some childrens books and colouring crayons. Also a modem with a good wifi connection.
There is a bed/settee with cushions, a table and chairs which can be moved onto the balcony if wished, a fridge/freezer, cooker with electric hob, marble sink with cold water only (hot water can be bought from the shower room), kettle, toaster and juicer.
Leading off the living room is a balcony with table and chairs, bed settee (lovely for that afternoon siesta) and glimpses of the sea just less than 1 minutes stroll away.
Out of the front door of the property down a few steps there is a terrace with a large table and 4 chairs, set underneath a grape vine and looking into the garden and olive grove. There is also an outdoor shower with cold water to wash the sand of your feet when coming back from the beach!
Go down to the wonderful Zaga beach, 2 sun beds are provided and an umbrella, turn left and wander along and into Koroni Centre, dipping your toes into the sea as you go! Along the way is a very nice beach cafe, open in the evenings in the Summer months, climb up from the beach then wander down the winding lanes into town, should you wish to take a taxi home there are several to be found in the town square by the big church, very cheap!
If you turn right when on the beach and wander along you will come across a lovely, family run restaurant named To Limanaki (little harbour), a wonderful place to experience authentic, greek cooking.
The town is also accessible by wandering back up to the lane that leads down to the property, turning right and following roads down into the centre. A short drive away.
Once in town, along the harbour are several restaurants and cafe/bars, always open late in the Summer season, one restaurant specializes in fish.
Sit here and enjoy the beautiful views of the Taygetos mountain range across the bay, the many sailing boats that come into the harbour and of course the fishing boats who sell freshly caught fish from the days catch.
On Sunday mornings early until around midday there is a good produce market next to the harbour, a good place to join friends for a coffee on a Sunday morning!
There are banks with ATMs in the street behind the harbourside, a small supermarket, gift shops, cafes, post office, wine shops and clothes shops, for a small town Koroni has a lot to offer.
Should you want to take a bus trip further afield, buses run from the town square by the big church daily into Kalamata, a vibrant town with a lovely old quarter, many shops and retaurants, museums and a wonderful, long sea front and harbour. Beware though last bus back to Koroni is 19.00 hrs.
So if it is a lovely, relaxing beach holiday your looking for then Stones Throw Cottage is the place to be.
