Walk under the frame of the famous El Arco along the sandy shore of this secluded beach.

Book a cruise to one of the most romantic and most photographed beaches in the Los Cabos region: Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach), where El Arco rises out of the sea. Get dropped off at this golden stretch of sand to spend a few hours enjoying the sand and sea. This is called Lover’s Beach because it is so private and secluded: the perfect place for a hand-in-hand stroll or a day out with your loved ones.Come to Playa del Amor to unwind. The lack of traffic and oceanfront development make it a very tranquil experience. On busy days, local vendors sell snacks and rent out beach umbrellas, but otherwise there are no facilities on the beach. Jump in for a swim to cool off, enjoy a picnic or grab your mask, snorkel and fins and dive in from the shore. The bay is home to an impressive marine ecosystem, so enjoy the stunning array of tropical fish while you explore the clear, warm water on the Sea of Cortez side of the beach.Don’t miss the chance to take photos of El Arco. This ancient limestone rock formation stands in beautiful contrast against the blue sky, as a gateway to the ocean. The arch was created by rough winds and waves, which eroded the rock over millions of years. Between December and March you may see whales in the bay. The sheltered waters around Los Cabos are ideal for baby whales, who can safely spend their first weeks here.

Playa del Amor is located on the tip of the Baja California Peninsula. Rent a water taxi from Médano Beach or the Cabo San Lucas Marina to get there and organize the return trip beforehand. If you would like to see the reefs on your way over, book a glass-bottom boat cruise. Another option is to rent a kayak and explore the shore at your own pace. Note that the currents can be strong and it is advised not to swim on the Pacific Ocean side of the beach.
