"This is a lovely little place with a great pub with really friendly staff and great food. Excellent dog walk on the other side of the road. The room has a fridge microwave kettle and toaster. The owner was a bit stressed about the shower having failed but they had called a plumber and all was fixed with no problems and lots of apologies. Would recommend!!"

"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. "We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"The lodge was perfect. Spotlessly clean and pretty and everything you could need. However what made our holiday absolutely perfect was the garden the lodge is set in. Stunningly beautiful, magical grounds that you could see from all sides of the lodge. With a folly perfect for an outdoor fire and BBQ. Central to all of the North East and Durham attractions. I have been twice now and can’t wait to go again. Magical!"

"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. So we booked here for the hot tub and the relevant ease of running a Park Run on the Saturday. "It's a beautiful area with stunning scenery just a short drive away. The house itself has so much character with a lovely large kitchen/dining area and big lounge. The garden is beautiful too - quiet and enclosed. We loved that you could walk to Kirkby Stephen over Frank's Bridge, which we did quite often. All in all, we had a lovely weekend."
