"Amazing stay in the center of Palermo. We had a corner room with a view of the theatre, which was quite special. Enjoyed the restaurant one night and the hospitality of the staff and family owners the entire weekend. Breakfast at the cafe was adequate, service has something to be desired. Great location. Be sure to read the booklet on the art and history of the building and be sure to inquire about the connection to the film, The Godfather. "

"Very sorry to leave this review, I am 188cm tall, I booked a single room, there was no information prior to say the shower and ceiling height was massively reduced in size, I could not stand up to shower, I have a neck injury and it was very uncomfortable. Room was fine otherwise warning really for tall people! I booked this as part of a longer trip to sicily, specifically for the pool, which they closed on my second hot day. "The hotel is brand new within a renovated villa. We stayed in junior suite room, which was very spacious with a sea view and a balcony. The room was very clean, modern, with A/C. "This accommodation had an excellent location, just off a quiet street and felt very safe and secure. There was a lift to our place. The furniture was a little old and basic, but it suited our needs and the location made up for the "frugality" (e.g. no corkscrew, shower gel etc - unless you pay extra). But I shouldn't quibble as we had a great time!"

"Location central and close to rail but property is more like a hostel than a hotel. Old in all respects with dingy feel but a comfortable bed and good sized room. Don’t expect any luxury. "

"Do not book. This hotel does not align with the photos - it is very cheap materials and construction. My husband was locked in the bathroom for almost an hour, the elevator broke, and the front door to our room wouldn’t close. We stayed only one night of the 5 we booked and they told us that these issues with the space were our fault and refuse to refund our cancelled nights. Just don’t even book it"

"You feel like Royalty staying in this stunning hotel! Grand Hotel Wager was a dream stay. The staff are wonderful, the lobby and bar are stunning and my room was fabulous! Truly the best bed and pillows of all my stays in Italy. There is a very large selection of breakfast items on the Buffett including a very good selection of gluten free items. The bar is lovely. I sat and enjoyed a pot of tea and read for a long while and the bar tender assured me to stay and enjoy myself. The lobby is huge so decorated so incredibly beautiful as is all the hotel. This is charm you can only find in European countries and it is stunning. It is within easy walking distance of the Opera house abc so many other sites. The hop on hop off bus line main meeting spot is at the end of the street. There is tons of shopping and lovely restaurants near by. It’s about a 25 minute walk from the train station but I enjoyed the flat walk and all the sites along the way. I highly recommend a stay with them at Grand Hotel Wagner if you are in Palermo!"

"I would like to recommend it as the #1 best hotel in Sicily. It is unfortunate that the swimming pool is not open, but it has all the advantages of a hotel. All the staff were friendly and the food was so delicious. Although the hotel is old, it was very clean."

"The staff was wonderful. I had food poisoning the day before check out and they let me extend my stay due to the fact that I was very slow moving. The man at the front desk was very friendly and passionate about getting the most out of Palermo. Made lots of good recommendations."
