"Beautiful propert and grounds/gardens in particular. True 5 star, staff and service lovely - organised several trips for us. Only thing - and it’s personal opinion - was that the menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner were not always to our taste and there were often better and cheaper options in Funchal. We tended to eat from the breakfast buffet rather than table menu which we enjoyed b much. None of the above should dissuade you from staying there. I would say it’s one of the best hotels...

"The staff were absolutely wonderful and the room was extremely clean, large, and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and I will absolutely stay here again for my next trip to Funchal. Was able to walk to Old Town shops and the boardwalk within 10-12 minutes and could have used the bus stops if I had needed."

"Fantastic hotel in a great location that was close to harbour, shops and restaurants. Located in a quiet road. Lovely, well equipped room and excellent breakfast. New Year’s celebrations were outstanding and we especially enjoyed being able to view the fireworks on the roof garden, with free drinks and food provided. All of this was enhanced by a wonderful staff team. A great stay."

"Christina at check in went above and beyond what I expect at a hotel check in. She gave lots of good advice. My room was very quiet and comfortable. The location is central, with several choices of restaurants within 200 metres. The hotel is located in the old part of town but I felt safe walking around at night.
