A Holiday in Apulia is always a dreamy experience. Our proposal is to make it warm and comfortable. The property has been restored with the care and passion that only those who love a building like this can feel.
Imagine a sober, elegant building of the XIX century, situated on the hills of Gargano. Imagine around it olive-groves, the characteristic fragrance, that only this very land can have. This is Villa Basso, for the traveller who appreciates fine taste, a real historical character, and a home away from home. It sits in an ideal position to enjoy a wonderful view of the sea. In the late sixties the villa has been the set of the movie “High Bright Sun” with Dirk Bogarde.
The apartment " ROXANE" consists of an entrance hall with a large fireplace area which has been converted into a cosy alcova with double bed ( window ,closet, chairs ) , dining room, living room with two sofas, large bedroom with king size bed, beautiful bathroom and delicious kitchen. All rooms are very tastefully furnished with period furniture, have wallpaper, are large and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with all the utensils and small appliances that make life easier. Externally, an area sown with lawn and equipped with sun beds and umbrella is for exclusive use of guests. A brick barbecue will make your summer evenings even more convivial.
The villa has a covered parking in large fenced garden. The location of Villa Basso is strategic to visit the Gargano: all the most interesting destinations are distant at not more than an hour drive. The view and ambience of the villa is invaluable and hard to find in the area.
SUITABLE FOR TWO COUPLES OR HONEYMOONERS
The garden ,large about two hectares , is shared but each apartment has its own private areas for outdoor dining or peaceful readings.
In the property there are also 2 other lovely luxury apartments for 2 and 4.
This house is situated in an enchanting and peaceful setting in the heart of Gargano National Park, easily reachable from the main road, and not so far from other tourist destinations such as Vieste, Peschci, Amalfi Coast (2 hours). The nearest beaches are only 1 km from here; the nearest towns ( Manfredonia and Mattinata) only five minutes drive. The owner of this apartment speaks fluent English and will lead you in discovering this rich-hearted land.
The Gargano promontory rises like an island from the flat plains of the Tavoliere, geographically and culturally different from the rest of Puglia. Its landscape is remarkably diverse: beaches and lagoons to the north, a rocky, indented eastern coast and a mountainous, green heartland of oaks and beech trees - reminiscent of a Germanic forest rather than a corner of southern Italy. For centuries the promontory was extremely isolated, visited only by pilgrims making their way along the valley to Monte Sant'Angelo and its shrine. Nowadays tourism has taken off in a big way, especially on the coast around Vieste, but in 1991 the whole peninsula became a national park, helping to protect the Gargano from overbearing.
