Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. "This is an excellent location to stay when staying on Mersea Island. Plenty of restaurants nearby and few minute walk to sea. Well appointed house with good garden facilities, owner in good contact if needed. Thank you"

The host called before we arrived to let us know she had left ice lollies for the children and some crisps. There was also things like ready meals, tea, coffee, sugar and sauces. Also a bbq to use. "Lovely cottage, super clean and everything you could imagine was provided. Kitchen was well equipped, and so was the bathroom with toiletries provided. Great that breakfast was provided too. Private garden with comfortable seating. Able to park outside for loading and unloading then moved to an off road car park just down the road. A great aqua sports centre is literally just down the road, we wished we had time for more, because there were so many activites we could have done there. The village...

Another great stay!!

"The hotel is well placed for the traveler. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. There is a good choice for breakfast, With a bar and restaurant you can enjoy a casual drink and food during your stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Free parking onsite is a great bonus as you seem to have to pay almost everywhere else. My only gripe is that we had an executive room with very poor WiFi connection. This does not detract from a very nice stay and we will look forward to returning next year."

"The hotel was rather quiet and under-used but as there was substantial renovation going on with the gym and spa/pool facilities this was understandable. The hotel staff were among the friendliest I've come across in a long time, nothing was too much for them in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. My wife and I were seriously impressed."
