"We were in town for the Inauguration. This hotel in the perfect location, so close to the Foggy Bottom Metro. We had no need for a car. You can walk to a variety of restaurants. The staff was professional, pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely breakfast in the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would return to The Melrose. "

"The location directly across from Union Station was unbeatable, and the hotel is nicely appointed with kind staff. The closet situation in our spacious room was odd -- only room for three to four hangers -- but everything else was quite good. Breakfast at both the hotel's restaurant (The Dubliner) and at a nearby cafe were more than satisfactory. We would stay there again. It's particularly good if you want to eschew driving on a visit to DC."
