"It is a great base for starting your Skye adventure. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean and comfortable (not fancy, but all you need for a night). Nice bar, nice hot breakfast (only goes til 9am though). You can walk to everything in Portree. Be aware there is no elevator and you have to park about 1/4 mile away. But all in all, recommend and would stay again!"

"Great location and staff. Rooms were nice and had a nice bathroom. Just wished the wifi worked in the rooms, other than just in the communal spaces."

"Susan and her property were just what we needed for our stay in Portree. The house is just a short walk to the town center, and is right next door to a gas station and grocery store. If you’re driving, there’s ample parking in the front gravel lot. The breakfast is phenomenal, and the rooms were perfect. We had a mini fridge in ours which saved us since we packed a lot of snacks for hikes! "

"Noisy location right near the plaza made worse by a food truck that pulled up at midnight. Room was small but fine except for the noisiness. Breakfast was ok. Hotel itself was beautifully presented. If it werent for the noisy people in the plaza the spot is perfect."

"We had a fantastic stay at Taigh Duitseach in April 2024. Checking in was very easy, the property was lovely and clean, the breakfast was exceptional and lovingly cooked in front of us by Jim and Paulline who were very kind and welcoming. We were only on Skye for 72 hours so we'll definitely be coming back and would feel lucky to stay here again next time!"

"Very well set up cottage. Cozy and comfortable especially when it is dreary out. Great for a couple or small family. Good communication from owner. Only wish the fireplace had been wood burning but alas you can't have it all. Would highly recommend."
