"Small but perfect for my stay - had everything I needed - owners are lovely very welcoming and the little coffee shop they have makes great coffee and cakes "

"We located the property after a change in date for a Archery tournament and the original booking could not be altered and so glad we did. Its a beautiful setting and very secure with the kit we were traveling with. We were greeted by the owners who made us fee extremely welcome. The property was very clean and ready earlier than stated. It was set up for the four of us and it was stocked with complimentary tea/coffee/sugar ang milk, shower gels etc. There is a vast selection of wine to...

"Excellent cottage, clean,comfortable and homely, many people would be upset because of lack of phone signal or internet but made it for me real peace and quiet, Excellent kitchen is well equipped with pots pans,cutlery, drink making facilities, and the views from the cottage are outstanding. "

"I you want to be out and about every day in beautiful scenery and then have an awesome base to relax then look no further. Stunning views out of every window and 2 large secure paddocks that you can let your 4 legged friend enjoy with no fear of them getting out. The hardest thing is convincing the dog to come inside and join you in the evening."

"The house was clean and contained everything needed for a lovely stay. It's set in a beautiful area looking over fields of sheep and horses. The hot tub works well. However, although the property is advertised as having 5 bathrooms, it should be noted that only 4 of the bedrooms are ensuite (and two of them share a Jack and Jill bathroom). There is one other bathroom but that is actually a toilet. There is also only one shower at the property, with the other two bathrooms having baths."

"Fantastic little cottage and the attention to details was great!!! The owners supplied milk, coffee, tea and chocolate chip muffins which were very much welcomed after a long drive. Location was brilliant and very close to Alton Towers (5 mins drive) and the suggested walks around the area were very relaxing. All in all we had a fantastic and relaxing time staying in this cottage. Definitely will be back and recommend to family and friends."

"Used this home as a base for a weekend in the Peak District, with 5 other couples. The building is stunning, kitchen is well stocked with appliances and other items. 2 fridge/freezers which were handy. Lots of spaces to relax and the hot tub was fantastic. WiFi is poor in wider areas of the house but excellent within the room of the house the modem is in. However, this is expected in a building of this size and didn’t ruin the weekend at all. Fanastic space to celebrate with friends for....

It’s an old building with hot water radiators unfortunately every time the heating started in my room there was the constant sound of water running into the radiator. Great staff & nice place to stop.

"Our second stay at The Moat House, the staff are wonderful, the rooms are spacious, the are dog friendly. The decor is sympathetic to the period building. A couple of negatives, despite asking for advice I couldn’t get the room warm enough during the night. The hotel is popular for wedding/ birthday events, unfortunately some other residents aren’t as considerate, who let their children run and down the corridor at 1am. That’s not the hotel’s fault but it did mean we didn’t sleep too well. Fortunately the excellent breakfast and service helped to make up it "
