"I booked a single room at the Grand for a one-night stay. The room was inland facing and did not have a view but it was very modern and smart, with a lovely marbled shower room. "Brilliant location and the staff are top notch but the hotel is a little tired and could do with a freshen up but it’s very clean. There is a kebab shop next to the hotel that was next to my room and my mum was in the room next door. The noise started at 1am until 4am. Couldn’t sleep so if you book a room ask that’s it’s not next to the kebab shop. Breakfast was really good!"

"The room and public areas were overall in very good condition and clean. The bathroom showed a few signs of wear but nothing to affect the stay. The room was fairly basic but I appreciated the en suite. The staff were very helpful and polite. Parking isn't all that straightforward. Street parking is tight, or alternatively you can use Chapel Street car park which I wouldn't recommend to nervous drivers due to some tight spots and corners entering and exiting the facility."

"This was a lovely hotel, very central to all the areas we wanted to visit. The rooms were quirkily designed and the bar area was stylish. The staff were so friendly and very helpful and the ability to park onsite was a bonus. Unfortunately I could hear the music from a nearby bar until the early hours on the Saturday we stayed, although my partner slept through. I would be happy to stay again in a different room."
