Big rooms which are clean, nice clean kitchen and very friendly staff. Location could not be better right in the centre of Perth.
However clientele lets the place down hardly any backpackers there for what is primarily a hostel. Vibe is a bit dodgy with a few handful of people getting kicked out during the week we spent there so staff are trying to improve it.
disgraceful you should take a look at the room you get as opposed to the room picture on your site room was decrepit filthy and disgusting i should demand a refund or at least another one night stay at another hostel to the same value
I really like this place. It's huge, and there's so many commin areas. Unfortunately, it's dirty. The batgrooms are not large enough for everyone and they got pretty dirty. The kitchen is almways hot and smelly, but has everything you need!
The location is excellent, blue CAT bus is nearby. Staff are really friendly and helpful which make the stay more enjoyable. With the price, everything is acceptable, except the wifi does not work all the time.
Thank you for an exceptional stay; room was upgraded for free, and it was beautifully comfortable, clean and quiet. Shared bathrooms were kept beautifully clean. Staff were exceptional; the 24/7 service is great in Perth with late nights flights not a concern for check in. Plenty of smiles and so very grateful to be offered space in the bag store room to leave a suitcase while I tripped around for a few days, really helped the logistics of moving about the place when on and off boats/trains/buses. Kitchen was spacious, clean and breakfast was greatly appreciated before a big day of exploring. Wonderful to experience some of Perth’s history from the moment you arrive. Thank you for making my stay exceptional.
An old building with colonial character originally intended to house a good number of people economically. Still doing the same today. The staff are friendly helpful and practical. The amenities and bedding clean, don't gaurantee a full night's uninterupted kip if you're a light sleeper but it's safe and right in the cultural centre and good value.
Would not recommend staying here unless you really need too. Extremely basic (a given at the price!) and noisy - road noise / roadworks (started at 6am!) and 0% insulation meant you could hear everything. Inside and out. There were some inconsiderate lads still partying and listening to music at 2am, the desk should’ve told them to be quiet.
My partner got woken up early even with ear plugs because of the roadworks.
Toilets were pretty poor and dirty. Beds were not comfy but again, you get what you pay for. Even so, you expect at least somewhere clean and respectful...!
We checked out early and booked into somewhere else. For the remaining 2 days in Perth.
Friendly staff, they helped us to book our Rottnest tour. Very helpful and willing to help us as much as possible. Room clean and with basic amenities totally matching price point and common areas perfect. Location was ideal.

Does what it says on the tin, as with most hostels a lot of long termers makes it feel a bit like prison :)
Stayed in 12 bunk mixed gender room and had an amazing time. The lockers are full size, plenty of room for my luggage and soveniers! Kitchen was very spaciuos and clean too. Wish I could've stayed longer. Plenty of space in the building to either chill out solo or hang out and make friends. Hope you enjoy your stay!
- Hot water supply failed, although I could walk to the other side of the building.
- First night there was a dance party in the rear of the facility and I was not advised of this.
- Drug overdose on the front bar area as I arrived.
- Licensed bar was not open while I was there, apparently some licencing issue.
- Bathrooms a bit scungy.
- Bed was fairly poor quality and was starting to bend/collapse.
Overall very disappointing, but reflective of the money I paid.
Cheap no frills accommodation. Had a private room for one night and have no complaints about the room. There were some older kinda suspicious looking people around the place though. Definitely not travellers.
This is a nice hostel with friendly staff with a 24 hour counter. I appreciate the clear and concise instruction when I arrived late due to a delayed flight.
The stay was pleasing and there are nice cafe and food around. Getting around was convenient and its 10 minutes away from Perth Station.
I would go back to stay at this hostel when I visit Perth again.
