"Our family had a great time at this cabin. The home was comfortable and had a really nice layout. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, 4 bedrooms downstairs with a big open bonus room, and 1 bedroom upstairs. The kitchen and main living areas on the main floor were perfect for our family. There was a large deck overlooking the back of the property and the creek where we spent a good amount of time. In the morning if was really nice to have coffee and breakfast on the deck. The entire property is walkable and cleared. The lawn is well maintained. The creek is shallow enough to walk through it if you have young children that want to play in the water. It is a brisk moving creek with beautiful, cold and clear water - perfect for the summer days. There are lots of oak trees on the property which helps keep the heat at bay. The cabin has a/c units on the main floor and downstairs so we were able to adjust it for each sleeping area. This is a quiet cabin located just a little off the beaten path, but also close to downtown Ellijay (15 minutes away). The Roof Restautant is great and we also visited a small Mexican restaurant (The Catrina Tacos and Margaritas) - both in Ellijay. We recommend both. We also visited Ruby Falls one day (1.5 hour drive), white water rafting at the Nantahala (1 hour 45 minutes away), and Ruby Falls (35-45 minutes away). Our family loved staying here. The icing on the cake was the property manager Helen. She was responsive and very kind."

"We loved the place. Great value for the place and space. Our puppy and grandkids loved it. Would be great for girlfriend/ guy get aways as well were you want some privacy between sleeping quarters. Our grandkids and puppy loved playing in the creek and we loved being on the porch and listening to it. "

"We spent a week at this house with our family of 15—from toddlers to grandparents—and it was perfect. The spacious layout never felt crowded, with a large living area and two dining tables allowing us to gather or spread out as needed. The kitchen had everything required to cook for our group, and meal prep was easy even with several people working at once.Kids loved exploring the creek and forest behind the house. Despite rainy days, they splashed in the creek and tromped through the woods. Adults appreciated quiet bedrooms and cozy corners for reading or napping. On sunny moments, the deck was ideal for morning coffee and relaxed gatherings.Even with rain, the house kept us busy with board games and enjoying family time at the big dining tables. Between ample space, comfortable communal areas, and a beautiful natural setting, this property met all our needs. We’d gladly return for another stay and recommend it to any large family seeking a roomy, peaceful retreat."

"This was the perfect spot for our family. My husband got up and rode from our driveway to the trails that are literally right at the driveway edge and along the entry road (Gates Chapel Road). He rode for HOURS every day while we went into Ellijay and visited our favorite places. If you are wanting to be right near downtown Ellijay, this may be too far out for you but if you have a mountain bike lover, this is perfection. WE loved to slow down and see the two white guardian dogs greet us on Gates Chapel Rd, see the shaggy horses at the farm along the way, see the empty wasp nest hanging high in a tree along the road, wonder about the farm with the fake deer and what they do there hahaa, and the next door neighbors are setting up a farmstead and are DELIGHTFUL. We asked permission and they allowed us to greet and pet their two gorgeous dogs. We fished in the little pond on site (caught some little bitty fish but it was fun), sat in the swing by the pond, spent hours hitting balls on the on site tennis court, and relaxed in the jacuzzi which is VERY clean b/c the owner has it drained between EVERY renter (THANK YOU!). We love relaxing by a fireplace. The one here does it's job of warming the place up but it is in an awkward spot. I'd have loved to turn the furniture to face the fireplace b/c being from Florida, we don't get to experience fireside coziness very often. But, I understand the positioning of the furniture b/c the TV is on the opposite side of the room."

"We had an awesome stay at Higher Ground. The house itself was amazing; indoor pool, hot tub, fire pit, etc. The communication and service from the hosts was also spectacular. Very close to Ellijay too!"
