The property and surroundings are a bit dated. Princeville is a well-planned community with a mix of housing types including a golf course, tennis courts and other amenities. Kauai itself is rare in that it does not change with the times,

Love staying in Princeville area higher elevation so much greenery all around. Chickens are all over the islands. Best to book activities & state park in advance before they sell out.

Princeville is a small resort community. There are only a few shops and restaurants (plus a grocery store and a hardware store) in walking distance, but Hanalei was a short drive.

Princeville was absolutely beautiful. There's lots to see just in walking distance and we made sure to get some walks in before leaving.
"It’s absolutely beautiful the staff is amazing and kind. The stay was amazing everything to do with property went well and the staff being so friendly was the greatest it’s no fun dealing with ugly people and the property had none of this thankfully, Paul Acosta, from Austin,Texas "

"It was an impromptu visit to Kauai with my family. I absolutely love Princeville and have stayed all over, but John's place was among my most favorite. His place is stocked, a breathtaking view of the ocean, and very comfortable. We hope to come back."

"The property is beautiful, the views are stunning, the pool is great, there are plenty of pickleball and tennis courts, there are restaurants available, and they provide rides to the nearest beach via golf cart. I also stayed at Marriot and Sheraton and I missed Hanalei Bay Resort the entire time I was at the other hotels. Definition of hidden gem."
