Lopesan Costa Bávaro was a very nice resort. I would say it does give 5-star quality in terms of location, service and the beauty and spaciousness of the hotel, but there were some areas where they lacked greatly. For instance, the food selection for the buffet could have been better. Offering more Americanized dishes would have been helpful for those who are picky eaters such as one of my teenagers. Also, the arcade and bowling prices were way too expensive for an all-inclusive. Truthfully, these things should have also been all-inclusive like they are at S

Great food, solid options for the pool, staff was always helpful. I'd go back to this place. A few times they would call my room to see if I wanted it serviced for the day. I would tell them a time and then they wouldn't show up. Overall very impressed with my stay as I travel a lot.

We stayed as part of a group of 14, and unfortunately, most of the rooms had a strong, musty odor that was hard to ignore. The staff was not very friendly, and the reception staff in particular were downright rude, which was surprising since we’ve visited Punta Cana multiple times and never experienced this before. There’s no bar by the pool, which is fine, but getting drinks can be tricky since it’s hard to find the waitstaff. The bartenders also seemed irritated, making it feel like we were bothering them just by ordering. The employees at the buffet restaurant were similarly unwelcoming. It’s the only place for breakfast, and although there are two buffet areas, they serve the same food for both adults and families. We also lost a few items (totally our fault), and there was no way to retrieve them. It was clear that the staff didn’t care much, so definitely keep a close eye on your belongings. The food was not great, it was pretty but not good. We probably won’t return to this resort, but we will definitely keep coming back to Punta Cana—it's a beautiful destination overall.

We had an amazing time at Lopesan. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff was always available if we needed anything. The coffee shop was excellent. The kid area was great. The dining was very good, the staff was always available to help. Overall everything was excellent.

It's more terrible experience with expedia from the airlines booking, the transportation to resort and from the resort to airport which they never showed. Plus the Bongo congo that never happened for us. We are planning 3 more vacation this year, now we know never to think about using expedia.

I wish I can give it more stars.. the issue was the room it smelled moldy and humid. My pillow cases had mold on them and the bathroom need maintenance work. The sink was clogged. The public bathrooms of the resort were also dirty and not well maintained. I would see staff members going into the bathrooms and just be on their phones instead of cleaning the bathrooms.

The property is beautiful and the staff is very nice and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like was some of the food didn’t taste good. I would prefer if the food was Dominican instead of American/Westernized food.

We stayed here for a week, everything is not that bad. But our creditcards and cash got stolen from our room. Definitely not safe and you can’t trust anyone in the hotel. We reported it to the customer experience staff but they ask non sense questions, no process, they are not accomodating and they don’t talk politely at all. Such a traumatic experience.

The property and service was good. Main issues we had were as follows: 1. Our flight had been delayed 1 days due to weather. I tried and expedia representative tried multiple times to call/email to let resort know we were going to be late 1 day. When I arrived my fears were realized that they had no notes we were going to be late and had to get manager approval to give us the room. Even though we pre-paid for the entire trip ahead of time. What would we have done if there wasn't a room? It worked out in the end, but still need to be able to easily contact the resort if needed. No credit was given by the resort for missed day. No one is taking responsibly for this, airline, resort, etc. 2. Food quality was terrible. Only had a couple meals that we decent at the Village restaurant for breakfast. Buffet was the worst. Cold food pretty much at every restaurant. Lamb at the Steakhouse i almost choked on because it was mainly gristle and fat. Never had foie gras before, tried it at La Boheme and wasn't good, texture reminded me of dried beef grease. 3. We were excited to watch the evening shows at the Teatro, only to have to leave early because the volume for the signing was too loud. Overall not happy with the trip and very disappointed. For the amount of money spent we expected better quality food. Been at other all inclusive resorts and have had better experiences.

The fact this is listed as 5star is shocking. Food was awful, room stunk and mold growing on lamp shades and on ceiling, I could go on and on. All around, this place is a 3 star on a good day.
