I should have gotten his name but the older gentleman that works the front desk during the day was so nice and helpful! Went out of his way to answer all our questions as was an excellent resource as far as telling us where to catch the cable car and restaurants. Etc. LOVED the 24/7 coffee machine, what a nice touch for guests.

We stayed 4 nights in a 6th floor room with views to the south. This hotel is a great spot between Nob Hill & Union Square. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly & helpful. Excellent little coffee machine available in the lobby!

The staff was good. The closet in my room smelled of urine. The staff did attempt to clean the room but it did not eliminate the smell over time. I just kept the door to the closet closed and it did solve the smell issue for the most part. Friday night there was an impromptu rap party outdoors that lasted to at least 1am right across the street. The area around the hotel is dingy with much homelessness. I don't know about the crime rate but I felt I needed to be on guard when walking at night. I still found the area fascinating with the degree of haves, a little have and have it's!

A beautiful hotel with history. The staff was excellent. The elevator was a little rickety due to age, but the rooms were very quaint and groovy. I would consider staying here again.

This is a converted apartment complex. The walls are paper thin, hallways a little sketchy, and the code to put in to get into the building and the room is annoying and too long.

First time at this hotel. Check-in was easy and room was clean and comfortable. Lots of dining choices within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Don't hesitate to book this hotel in Nob Hill. Great location and close to all public transportation. We stayed for 2 nights and the staff was super friendly. The bed super comfy and the shower pressure was amazing!! The area around the hotel was decent too. Nobody bothered us at all. My gf and I felt safe. Sure the walls are a bit thin but the price and location can't be beat. Heading back to SF in a few months and this will be our hotel of choice.

This was perfect for us because we were seeing a show at the regency ballroom. It is a great location to get around. Try Waymo app. The driverless cars. Parking is tough so just get in a lot nearby. The hotel can recommend one, but if you have a big car they will charge you extra. There is an amazing croissant place across the street. but food all around. If you like prime rib you have to do House of Prime rib.

A fine bargain hotel if your priorities are budget and access. Location is good for walking and transit options. Larkin St is a bit seedy, but Van Ness Ave a couple blocks down is a lot more pleasant. I wish the lobby had a regular drip coffee machine instead of the all-in-one espresso drink machine. The room was spacious, practical, and tasteful, including a ceiling fan and dimmable lights. The toilet flushed aggressively, which was startling. The walls are paper thin, and any noise in the hallway sounds like it is in the room. One morning someone was angrily shouting and pounding on the door of another room, which was really jarring. Interacted with a number of hotel staff, which was mostly fine until the last morning, when housekeeping came by before we had even checked out, which was a little annoying. It would have been more courteous to wait until after the checkout time.

Great, clean hotel. Has everything you need for pleasant stay. Just the area in downtown can be sketchy with a lot of homeless people but that’s not something this hotel can control. Convenient place to stay.
