"The owner and staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was excellent and they even went our of the way to cook breakfast when we were late on oyr last day of the stay. The free laundry was definitely appreciated."

"The main point was how helpful Alice was beforehand. I had to change the booking but couldnt with Expedia and Alice did it all and responded within minutes to all my emails. Great service. The place is great and lots of little thoughtful things to make a great stay. My only advice would be to ask for a room away from the road. The lorries start early."

"This was a lovely guesthouse, nicely decorated and appointed. Our host was really attentive, hosting wine tastings on two of our three evening stay. It’s central but up a very steep hill and not suitable for walking up or down the hill in high heels. Unless you drive everywhere I’d suggest not ideal for infirm guests/wheel chair users. Really appreciated the tea and coffee replenishment and lovely toiletries. The bed was ultra comfortable and we had wonderful views over the lake. "

"Jeff and Jan were hospitable hosts! We love the little morning chats during breakfasts and the serene surrounding. Room was spacious and very clean and the bathroom heater was efficient."

"We booked this place early morning for two nights. It was a fantastic property and well equipped however the communication with someone that either works there or the owner was impossible. Terrible check in experience.( the only bad thing about the place) You require a code to get into to the property and the room. We never received any instructions and both phone numbers were automatically being transferred to voice mail. Also no response to several email. We waited in front of the property...

"Laura and Derek were amazing hosts. They have a lovely B&B, and the breakfast provided each morning was a great start to the day. We loved having the chance to talk with both of them during our 3-night stay and felt like they became friends. We will definitely stay there again if we ever return to New Zealand. It is a gem of a place with kind and generous hosts. "

"I can’t say enough good things about Shakespeare House! We stayed here after coming to Te Anau late from the Milford Sound area. With notice, the owners made arrangements for us to check in after-hours. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and the owners were so kind and gave us some great tips for what to see and do during the next leg of our journey. Highly recommend this B&B! "

We would recommend this place if you have a car (limited parking available) and/or don’t mind walking about 15 min to shops and restaurants. The Remarkables area is pretty close to the airport but somewhat remote from downtown Queenstown, which we didn’t mind as we had already stayed in the busy CBD before we began our trek. Cell service outside of the hotel WiFi...

Holiday Inn Express And Suites Queenstown, an IHG Hotel

"Wow there are so many wonderful things to say about Holiday Inn Express and Suites Queenstown. We stayed there in May 2023 for 7 nights and here are the highlights: * We had a corner suite on the top floor which had a panoramic window and the snow-capped mountain views from both windows was spectacular! Aside from the stunning views at all times, the room was also clean. * The downstairs dining / lounge area near the lobby was large and great and a beautiful space! There were 2 fireplaces on either side - one had these 2 tall comfy armchairs and the other had more seating. Many of the tables had power to charge devices and you could hang in this downstairs area day or night, rather than just your room. After a long day trip to Milford Sound it was so convenient to just sit in one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace with a hot meal, watching sport. * Our stay included buffet breakfast which was nice and the staff were friendly. * The location of the hotel was convenient as it was a relatively short downhill walk to the centre of town and you soon got used to the uphill walk back to the hotel. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! On our return back to Queenstown a week later we stayed elsewhere in a different part of town, but it just wasn't as lovely as the Holiday Inn. "
