It’s a quaint property in a lovely setting. The staff were very kind, helpful and caring. The room was spacious, clean, plenty of cupboard space, which is always helpful. Breakfast was very good. Dining menus both in the restaurant and bar, were varied and the food quality was very good. Overall we had a great stay.

From check-in to checkout, the customer service was nothing short of exceptional. Every team member—from reception to the bar and restaurant staff—was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The breakfast team went above and beyond, making mornings a real treat. Our room was incredible, with a stunning view of canal boats drifting by—an idyllic touch that made the stay even more special. We dined at the à la carte restaurant and were absolutely blown away. The meal was, without exaggeration, one of the best any of us have ever had. The four of us were dumbfounded by the quality, presentation, and attentive service. Simply delicious and unforgettable. Breakfast was equally impressive—fresh, flavorful, and served with genuine care. The beautiful surroundings added even more charm, with scenic walks around the ponds and canals creating a perfect countryside escape. We can’t wait to return. We only stayed for one night to break up a journey to Liverpool so didn't see everything the hotel had to offer. Bar staff were particularly impressive - efficient and attentive even though there were a lot of customers and a wedding reception going on too. A pleasant place to stay.

Lovely rural hotel

Lovely and inviting hotel in lovely country surroundings. Had a superior room on ground level which was very clean and created a calming atmosphere. The evening meal and breakfast were superb in the stunning conservatory area. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Moat House was a revelation, I was expecting high quality but it was better than that, literally everything was perfect. The room, view, staff, food, even to the extent that the biscuits in my room were gluten-free! (I had told them in advance I couldn’t have gluten but only expected this to be noted at breakfast!) I normally find something lacking in a hotel, but not this time. Thank you to all the staff, I’ll be back! 😊
