Fabulous location, garden superb, house in much need of some TLC!!
We frequently visit this area and always stay in rental apartments or cottages, sometimes modern, sometimes old buildings, so have lots of experience of what to expect. We were very disappointed with this house having booked our stay almost a year in advance. Whilst the location and garden could not be faulted, the house could be hugely improved. On arrival it smelt of a combination of damp, dogs, mould, dust, tobacco smoke, dirty vacuum cleaner bags, all masked by the smell of revolting furniture polish! The so called deep cleaning that meant we could not arrive until after 4pm and had to leave by 9am, was much to be desired. The kitchen cupboards and cutlery holder were full of mould, the bathroom, windows and front door all mouldy, thankfully some Milton and mould spray improved these for us and hopefully future visitors. Plates a d cups in the cupboards were dirty. The light switches in the kitchen were covered in dust and grease, every nook and cranny had cobwebs, the corner kitchen cupboard was filthy and smelt revolting. The bathroom is downstairs and involves going through 6 doors if you wake in the night needing the toilet. The sink in the bathroom was blocked, the seal on the oven broken, the toaster only worked intermittently and usually only if the slider on the toaster was manually held down. The grill pan doesn’t fit properly inside the oven. The most shocking thing was arriving on a bank holiday weekend (there are NO shops for miles) to discover the owners/ cleaners hadn’t even left us a roll of toilet paper or a single dishwasher tablet. Thankfully a friendly neighbour came to our rescue. The mattresses on the beds were shockingly bad. I had such awful back pains and sciatica that I had to bulk the mattress up with two duvets beneath me to get any sleep. The curtains were more of a voile than a curtain. This places needs a serious make over. New carpets, new oven, new toaster, new mattresses. At least leave the basics most properties would leave: some toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, a pint of milk and a loaf of bread. I have never written a bad review on a property before, but I am hoping that by doing so it will encourage the owners to improve this beautiful house that has been sadly neglected over the years and bring it back to its full potential.

Great Gower holiday in lovely cottage
This cottage is highly recommended. Excellent location next to 2 of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Llangennith is a lovely village with friendly locals and a great pub. We loved the cottage; sea view from garden and bedroom was beautiful. Would love to return.

Wonderful stay
We loved it here, great location, 15 minute walk via a path or along the road to our favourite beach of all time! Brilliant pub just up the road (serves food). Kids loved the walk to Rhossili and back again (fueled by Joe's ice cream!) plus some stunning evening walks - there are tons of walking tracks. House was cosy and spotless with everything we needed (bit short on loo roll though, we had a crisis on the first night as ran out!). I loved the write up about the house and it's family history, very special. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again.
