"Really a near-perfect place to stay in Dublin's center. Conveniently situated close to Temple Bar (a five-minute walk), Dublin Castle and much more, but far enough from the madding crowds to be peaceful at night. "Hotel needs total overall to bring up to required modern standards - floors squeak when walked on, sink had no plug, flooring in bathroom coming up, TV was ancient and did not work anyway. First room given - the radiator did not work so room was like an ice box so has to be asked to move which the hotel did to a room where the radiator worked. Everything needs ripping out and new modern furniture put in plus re decorated all over."

"A friend & I have been looking foward to staying at The Clarence for a long time. We loved the hotel itself, the bar area, and the restaurant. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I personally was a little disappointed with the room, whilst overall lovely decor, this room clearly needed a little TLC. The hotel is not at the cheaper end of the market, so I didn't expect damp in the bathroom or a rusty radiator. Also, there was a large stain on the carpet. Whilst not huge issues...
