"This turned out to be the perfect spot . We needed to spend some of our time futher west (got there by taxi) but also wanted the convenience to see the sights in the afternoons so it was a perfect option . Situated just 2 mins from the main tramline ✅✅✅ into Sultanamet Just a short 2 mins walk - There are lots modestly priced restaurants just at the adjacent road, plus a supermarket too. "Porta Romanos was a very affordable find for my business stay in Istanbul. A 15-minute walk from the subway I took each morning to my trade show I found the hotel quite convenient. "It was Ok. Wed booked for one night just for spa and swimming pool before a 2am flight to relax in the day. The pool was closed for some reason although it was within the opening hours, very disappointing. Sauna was nice, it also had a Turkish bath and showers and a small gym. This was all decent. "The room was smelling so bad from smoking although I requested previously a non smoking room, they had no other better option so they brought a fragrance to kill the bad smell and opened all windows. Minutes later I noticed that all the carpet is so wet from a previous water flood from the toilet, the water looks brownish so I insisted to move out and they offered a nother room. The staff were cooperative and friendly."

Unfortunately, when I received the room, it was on the fifth floor and without electricity, so I could not use the elevator or the air conditioning. When I complained to the reception, they treated me badly, so I left the hotel and remained without a room, searching the streets for another hotel. I don't recommend it at all"
