"The Hotel Oberland was the perfect place to stay in Lauterbrunnen. We stayed here on the recommendation of Rick Steves and it was perfect for our three days. We stayed across the street in like a mini apartment down the steps towards the back of the building. We had plenty of space with 2 beds, a kitchenette, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. The Coop grocery was a 5 minute walk down the road if we needed anything. The room was extremely clean, warm and plenty of space to move around. The women at the reception desk, especially Milka and Sundra were great. They spoke English very well and were helpful with any question we had about transportation and recommendations on what to eat or how we should spend some of our days in the city. They were both amazing. It was extremely helpful that our hotel had breakfast everyday for all the guests. They had a selection of fruit, cold meats and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, a delicious bread assortment, cereals, porridge and an amazing coffee maker. I would stay here again if I was in the area. You are close to the bus station and a nice 40 minute easy walk to Trummelbach Falls and right down the street from Staubbach Falls. You are truly right in the middle of everything and you can hear the bells from the cows which is such a serene experience in itself."

"The area is just like paradise so most hotels will make you feel like that, I believe. Breakfast was very good, the views from hotel were stunning, close enough and to main street and train station with complimentary ride which was convenient with luggage. Staff was super nice!"

"Great stay! All the staff were friendly. Nice view. My only complaint it was far too warm in the room and too hard to sleep with the down comforters. Also the hot tub/jacuzzi lukewarm. Breakfast was fantastic. "

"we chose this for location because it was not right in town but very close. half mile walk to center of town with stores, restaurants, rail and cable station. it is uphill to the town but doable for most. view from deck was simply amazing. (you do have to contend with a few goat and cow smells - goats are cute but you ARE in the country). covered parking was a dream. we cooked some meals and had adequate everything for cooking and eating for four. washer dryer were great. bedding was exceptional but we all found the mattresses a tad soft. bus stop was right there and we used it when too tired to walk to town. close waterfall visible at night was lit up and beautiful. You can walk to the big waterfall and back. we would rent this again if in the area and recommend it highly to others"
