"most unique place I've stayed in -20 ft ceilings 12ft doors large comfy rooms with AC foood & bev available but tourist priced - other food & bevy available within walking distance host is very personable but will pass on misinformation - we asked about laundry service - they took it and was not ready upon check out - asked about massage service offered and stipulated which day ... went to book it and was not available Property is high priced for the area "

As I chose to explore more affordable options elsewhere, I can't comment on the quality of the breakfast. A special shout-out to Maria, who checked me in and made me feel right at home. "This was a wonderful surprise in the heart of El Vedado just 2 blocks from Hotel Nacional. Lunch, diner and drinks at hotel Bacional is a must and so inexpensive as you pay in Cuban pesos, CUP. Also Caberet Parisian is at hotel and it’s the best show and price ever!! This Chile hotel has a wonderful breakfast and wonderful staff who were so helpful. The rooms were excellent with great air conditioning and showers. "

"We loved our stay here, the room was cool and spacious. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! It was the first place we stayed in Cuba and it was fantastic. Very lively neighbourhood you know you’re definitely in Havana. Breakfast was provided everyday… they make a good omelette! "

"The place is very good, a 10-minute walk from downtown. The room is spacious and comfortable. There's even a safe in the room to leave the valuables. Breakfast is available from 7.00 AM. It won't even be possible to boil water for coffee before 7.00 AM. So if you're going to go out for a tour, like earlier in the morning, it would be helpful to take a kettle with you to make some water for coffee in the room."

"We had a wonderful stay at the El Candil hotel in Havana. The hotel is spotlessly clean, wonderfully decorated and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Reception and general help by Rosabel & Guiomar is priceless, backed up by Nestor at night, all brilliant guys. The rest of the staff are also lovely, helpful and attentive too. Roof top bar is serves great food and drinks, bar and food staff again - super. All in all we would thoroughly recommend the hotel as your Havana base. David & Alison from London "
