"To be honest, I had a load of misgivings about this place, because I only read the reviews AFTER I booked and paid for it! The mixture of 2-stars and 5-stars made it tricky to know what to expect, and there was a lot of trepidation when we rocked up to the gaff. Turns out it was fine. The Chekin website they encourage you to use was an absolute dumpster fire, but thankfully not necessary. "The property was in a great location for what we needed. Communication with the owner wasn’t the best and we had to go through Expedia finally get any response which was the only downside. If you’re going to stay here buy a permit through the property as you’ll have a wider option as to where you can park and for a full 24 hours. It costs £10. "We stayed in a lovely room which was an upgrade from our original booking at no extra charge it was very clean and fresh with quality bedding and towels lovely extra touches too, the owners were very welcoming we had only booked one night we were visiting our daughter so didn't stay for breakfast but it looked tasty, will definitely book on our next visit "

The cleaner / maintenance young gentleman that greeted me at reception as I was early for check in, was absolutely wonderful, thoughtful, considerate and very friendly. "The room was pretty tiny, and the traffic on the street below was loud. The gentleman who checked me in was very polite and carried my suitcase for me. There is only one restaurant nearby that was pretty lousy. Otherwise, I had to walk at least 20 minutes to get to other restaurants in either direction. It is very close to a very lovely park for walking and relaxing (Stanmer Park). I guess it was ok for the price. "

"This was our second time staying with Martin and Jane and it was just as great second time around. We had the large sea view room again and it was perfect. Breakfast was yummy. We will be back. "

"I enjoyed my stay and the staff were great. But I had problems getting shower going and there was no heating on. Both problems were fixed but there could have been more info. Especially as the pub was closed the Sunday evening I arrived so no help available."

"Amazing boutique hotel. Really central but not noisy. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast. incredibly attentive and kind hosts. Spotless room, with everything we needed - very comfy bed and spacious en suite. Also enjoyed the amazing modern art. Would highly recommend and intend to return."

"Just as advertised. Also, you can see the sea from the bedroom bay window. Neighbours quiet. Spacious rooms. Great shower. I'm a bad sleeper but the comfy bed saw me get 7 hours! Everything you need is here. My dogs enjoyed it too, especially having a private secure garden."
