"Amazing place, when I arrived at the reception it was old fashioned but when the Lady took me around to the rooms I was really in the 20th century. The security locks used were impressive. I felt safe already. The room was so clean, neat, refreshing I can just go on. I use hotels around the country this was my favourite."

"We stayed at The Bell Inn for two nights with our dog. We had not been to Essex before. Our room was large and extremely comfortable with a wonderful selection of teas and coffees and a fridge. The breakfast was excellent. All staff were helpful and friendly. My one criticism would be that there was no non-slip mat or rail in the bath for safety in the shower."

"This property was basic but perfectly comfortable and in a stunning location! The lane to the property was very over geown and unfortunately my husbands car (which has low clearance) was unable to get down it. But the owner soon dorted an alternative for us. The neighbours ford focus had bo problems so i would say this wont be a problem for most! Access down to views over the estuary and walks from the house was great. No wifi but perfectly good signal for 4g - or a good excuse to go off grid. The host was wonderful and communication was excellent."

"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. The house is warm, clean and the hot tub is just fabulous. Communication before the trip was great and everything set up as we had asked. The speaker they provide is great. The location is also lovely. We cycled at Alton water which was lots of fun and had a gorgeous lunch at the kings head Sutton. Would highly recommend."
