Beautiful and peaceful
We had a wonderful stay in this cottage at the top of the mountain. The home was comfortable, homely and well presented. Loved the views, the wary sheep, walking in the surrounding areas, the enclosed fireplace and the silence. Would highly recommend.

Highland Holiday in June
Lovely cottage, perfectly equipped kitchen. Completely lonely, really enjoyed our 10 days in the Highlands. Highly recommended! Gravel Road to the house, worked fine with normal (non 4x4) VW Golf in summer.

Wondeful, Unique and Silent
Wonderful stay in the most unique location. The silence in the evenings was second to none, great walks in the forest (are these old mountain bike tracks?) amazing wildlife (golden eagle spotted) and most interesting historical area. Deli in Beauly was delish!

Moelnacaep
Lovely cottage set up on the hillside away from roads. There was everything we needed for our stay. A very comfortable cottage with lovely views across the countryside. Very handy for us with our golden retrievers visiting the Guisachan Gathering in nearby Tomich

Peaceful and restorative
The cottage is obviously well loved and has a marvellous feel. And location! Furniture is comfortable, kitchen has what you need (and the slow cooker was very handy!) The host was very quick to respond when we had an issue (which was dealt with efficiently and effectively). We would happily stay again!

What a view!
A cosy cottage at the top of a hill surrounded by woods and fields. The first drive up the hill might be an experience but then one gets used to it (just take your time). Moalnaceap has everything you need to enjoy your stay and is a great place to tour the Highlands: Inverness, Loch Ness, the Black Isle, Glen Affric, Ullapool and Assynt... There's so much to do and see!

Idyllic Solitude at Moalnaceap Cottage
Wow! As soon as we got here we instantly chilled. We’d already had week’s stay in beautiful Oban and thought we were pretty relaxed from that but Moalnaceap Cottage took it to another level. The peace, the views, the solitude and even the weather (we got suntans) made this the best holiday we’ve ever had. Beauly is lovely with the friendliest people and service you’ll get anywhere in the world. Really sad to leave; really looking forward to coming back.

Amazing scenic getaway
Prior to our arrival, Catriona had answered all our questions promptly. It was easy to find with her instructions and found the unpaved road up to the lodge. The house itself was very clean and comfortable and we were greeted with a welcome basket, which was very thoughtful. All the main items were provided and the wood burning fire place was a bonus. The views were absolutely stunning and the peace and tranquility even more! We are planning to make another trip during winter

Simply Marvelous
What an amazing cottage to stay in with just lovely views. The cottage is remote yet easy to get to many places to visit. We went dolphin and seal watching at Moray Firth, Visited Glens and Lochs including Loch Ness and had a day at the Cairngorms. All fabulous. The cottage was lovely and cosy with amazing views and the night sky was great (I have never seen so many stars!). Loved our neighbours (3 little friendly pigs) and deer. To sum it fantastic. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Country cottage experience
Road leading up to cottage required maintenance such as grass in middle of road poisoning/cut and overhanging trees cut back as they were scratching vehicle . Location is amazing lovely views .cleaning could be a lot more thorough but it was OK. For a house that accepts pets carpets not ideal wooden flooring more hygienic but that's just my opinion. Internal fixings and finishings need tidied up but overall it was a pleasant stay .loads of wildlife seeing red deer each morning and late evening and plenty of birds of prey. My small complaints wouldn't stop me booking this place again .

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Disgusting cottage- PLEASE STAY AWAY
On arrival the smell on opening the door was disgusting, floors dirty, kitchen filthy, kitchen pots, pans, plates, cutlery absolutely disgusting not been washed, kids bed had blue throws over them that were covered in dog hair and the same room had bugs crawling over the walls, had to clean the place before letting our children in and the next morning we have to leave when my son woke up with ticks that had bitten into his stomach so stays for about 20hours instead of 4 days and the owner doesn’t care and told me if I contact her again I would get reported for harassment. I would give it a zero rating but doesn’t have that option. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS COTTAGE. Definitely one for environmental health to visit. No refund offered so had to go through my bank

delightful cottage
Moalnaceap Cottage is lovely. It is truly on its own and the silence of the surrounding countryside is deafening!! It is very cosy and comfortable and we were blessed with beautiful weather too. Spotlessly clean throughout. When we arrived it was late afternoon but the cottage was warm and welcoming which is so nice after a long day driving. We had a lovely holiday staying here enjoying the peace, fresh air and views from our garden chairs and I suspect we will be returning. The track up to the cottage is to be approached with sensible driving but it was perfectly fine and we do not have a 4x4. Catriona's instructions were very clear on how to find the cottage even tho we doubted ourselves as we left the road behind us. The surrounding area is also beautiful and a treat to drive on such quiet roads. The bluebells in the surrounding area were as I remember from years ago when they covered woodland and ground in abandon and seemed to go on and on (and I'm not that old!!) Beauty is a very nice town and has some very individual shops which are great to browse in and then have lunch in the local deli (Gluten free cakes and lunch available if required) watching the world go by. I would highly recommend this very comfortable cottage. Julie, Steve and Percy the labrador May 2019

Stunningly remote
We used Moalnaceap Cottage as both a base for exploring the Highlands and as a cozy retreat in itself for our honeymoon. It's a fantastic, well-maintained property with charm and privacy. We adored our time in Crash of Aigas and are already planning a return trip!
