"Lovely warm and friendly welcome on the Saturday, Sunday breakfast staff not as friendly or speedy. (My breakfast was cold). Room was cute, clean and had everything we need, shower was hot, (toilet seat very wobbly.) Would stay again, good location, great views and value. "

St. Nicholas Church

Thought to be some 800 years old, St. Nicholas’ Church stands in the centre of town, a place of tranquillity amid the bustling streets of Carrickfergus. The accepted story behind the church is that it was built in the late 12th Century by John de Courcy, the Anglo-Norman knight who had a reputation for establishing churches and abbeys during his rule.

A great find in an excellent city centre location

"Hotel is in a great city centre location, easy walk to the heart of the city at the square again the City Hall and to main shopping areas. Lots of great restaurants and traditional pubs are an easy stroll away. The hotel itself has a very modern practical interior and has a very relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere with nice public areas. We were lucky enough to catch the hotel's live entertainment on the Sunday evening. Our studio room was small but well designed, with some nice touches. The small kitchen area is very practical and a full sized fridge very sensible. The the shower had a great pressure and temperature. Cleanliness in all areas was excellent. We only had breakfast on one morning. This was very good value with a decent selection of cold and hot food but with most hotel buffets, the hot food wasn't as freshly made as it could have been. All-in-all I would highly recommend Room2 Hometel."

"Stayed over for one night, it was in an ideal location for getting to the hockey game. Plenty bars around the hotel. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They looked after us more than they probably should have. We had such a positive experience here. The rooms were basic but perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was a bit steep but it was convenient. Would definitely stay again. "

Perfect for a solo traveler

"I stayed here for two nights as a solo female traveler and had a simply lovely experience! Off the bat, the location is right next to Grand Central Station, which made utilizing public transportation a breeze. The location is also a stone's throw from Belfast city center, which made everything super convenient and walkable. This property lived up to my expectations as an IHG property (which was a big reason I booked it to begin with) and the staff was so friendly - they had great recommendations for local restaurants! The room was spacious and clean, and included all the amenities listed. Highly recommend, I would certainly visit again on my next trip to Belfast."
