"I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express by SJO in Costa Rica and had such a wonderful experience. The beds were unbelievably comfortable — truly some of the best I’ve ever slept on. While the rooms are a bit small, they’re spotless and thoughtfully laid out. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a refreshing break in the sun. The true highlight, though, was the breakfast experience — and I say “experience” because it was so much more than just a meal. Raul, the chef, came out to greet each guest with a huge smile and made everyone feel so welcome. The fruit selection included exotic options we weren’t familiar with, and Raul came over to show us how to eat them, turning it into a fun, interactive moment. He even made a banana sculpture that looked like a dolphin — such a sweet and unexpected touch! And the fresh coconut water? What a treat! This level of hospitality is rare and really elevated our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Costa Rica. It’s clean, comfortable, and filled with heart."

"Los Lagos was amazing for our family of 4 with kids age 10 and 14. They lived the pool and waterslides and we ate at the pool bar everyday for supper as they didn’t want to leave. The hot springs were amazing as were the staff at the bar area. We upgraded our room by contacting the hotel a few weeks before our stay and had to remove one night stay. Only when we checked in was it we found out there was a $35 fee from Expedia for cancelling a night. We had an amazing superior room with tons of space within walking distance to breakfast and the pool. We had no idea there would be a living room area with a separate couch to sleep on so our son slept there. We did have to put towels under the front door at night so spiders, geckos and bugs didn’t come in. Overall our stay was 10/10 and we would stay there again in a heart beat. Our only complaint was not enough pool chairs by the waterslide. It was tough to find spots to sit at times."

"This property was amazing! The staff is so wonderful and made our stay extra special. We enjoyed the hot springs and all of the tours at the property. Bryan made any and ALL requests so easy, and Reuben took us on a hike and horse back riding trip and they were perfect. We felt a sense of exploration and relaxation all at times. The town of chachaugua is only a short distance away and had a fantastic little soda with pizza and empanadas, and a ice cream shop that had $1 ice cream… I cannot say enough about how special this hotel and staff is. We 100% would return and recommend. "

"Gorgeous property and very friendly staff! We had access to viewing so many birds and we loved that there were onsite guided walks. The food was amazing as well! We are looking forward to returning."
