Great for kids and a really fun day out for kids. Talking to a lady on plane home who told me that its possible to stay overnight in one of three tents (or cabins) - can't remember, and that its lovely to hear the animals calling out. Not personal experience, but worth checking into.
Spent a very enjoyable afternoon in this extensive park. Plenty of public toilets, beautiful butterfly house. The flamingos were so pretty, and the couple of bears quite entertaining, cracking open coconuts on the floor before devouring them, much to the delight of onlookers. Came away with a smug feeling for having supported this very worthwhile conservation project, the brainchild of the visionary Gerald Durrell.
