"Came a bit early but could check in early. Room was perfect , and had a sea view.. Breakfast was very good.. Evenings after 22.00 were quiet although dogs nearby started their 'orchestra' every evening around 17.00. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful especially the receptionists. They even arranged a lovely lunch packet as we had a very early flight back. This was a cozy down to earth hotel."

"Close to Old town with corner shops, restaurants and tour booking office. Walkable from major bus routes. Breakfast is decent, continental with option of cheese and ham or scrambled egg. Accommodation is in the original house or another building across the road. No aircon or central heating but we didn't miss that during the shoulder season."

"The Hotel Do Carmo is in a very good location; close to shops, cafés and a grocery store. The lobby of the hotel was very nice, so when we got up to our room we were surprised to see that it was quite dated. The little balcony overlooking the street was great. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They offer parking across the street for €10/day. The breakfast was good with many options. The welcome glass of sparkling wine was a nice touch! "
