Service attentive but unobtrusive. Lifts efficient with little waiting required - important since we were on the top floor. Would certainly choose it were we to0 return to stay in York.."

"Impressive building with a feeling of class and sophistication. Staff friendly and helpful. Gym is good for a hotel facility. We picked a garden view room which was worth it as the view was fantastic to wake up to. Nice bar and (depending on which time of year you go) ‘Thors tipi’ located in the grounds, gave a lovely Xmas vibe. Came a few years ago and the hotel has benefited massively from the refurb. Right next to the train station. Parking onsite "

"Second time staying at this hotel for the city’s annual art and comic festival. The Hotel is across the road from the event, making it ideal for the weekends happenings. Rooms are clean and well kept. We found it had everything we needed for our short stay. Plenty of hot water and amenities. Breakfast was excellent, well stocked and well organised. The staff were always polite and helpful. We will be returning for sure. Only issues are that a bar/club venue next door can play music into the late hours. Making early nights difficult. Not sure what can be done about that. If you’re on the other side of the building it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Also the reception is actually one side of the main bar, this can be difficult on busy Saturday nights when it’s busy."

Only gripe if it is one, was the £15 parking charge per night to stay, yes it is in the booking info once you get past the “parking available” it then says the cost, unfortunately I just looked at the parking available option. Just to make more people aware. "
