"The property was in pleasant grounds, in an attractive village. There are a number of b and b rooms in the barn which is now an annex to the main house. The room had a high ceiling so was airy and spacious. The ensuite shower room was too. The bed could be a double or two singles so was large size and we found to be comfortable. "Absolutely shocking stay. No confirmation email prior to arrival or key safe number. Spent an hour trying to contact them. When we finally got through we were about 1 hour from our location in Crewe, to be told sorry the room that you have booked has had a flood in the en suite. We have another property you can have a nice room with a lovely T.V in Stoke on Trent. I had an army reunion in Crewe why would I want to stay in Stoke??? "Overall great. Just a few issues with service especially when you arrive to check in, and all you want to do is get it done efficiently with your family in tow. So when a guest arrives, please great them. Don’t wait for them to wonder what to do next; so I guessed that the newly installed tablet maybe for me to you use, considering I had been ignored. (No other guests). Standing, there, knowing I am there, not acknowledging or asking if I need any assistance. Not a good look. Otherwise one other issue. Couldn’t get booked into the gastro pub, as it was somehow full, even though maybe at most visibly 40% occupied. I guess not enough staff to provide quality service. However I was able to get into the a la carte restaurant and it was fantastic. Well done. The room was a real highlight, wonderfully spacious, clean and with character. Funny thing though was the faucet for the sink, which was so low, I couldn’t get water in the room supplied kettle. Would stay again, just please, first impressions count; make an effort there. Thx"
