"You have to understand you're staying in a heritage building, within a town centre, above a busy, excellent pub/resteraunt. To some extent, the bedroom is a secondary consideration. However, staff very friendly, room warm & comfortable, food excellent and ideal for exploring Alnwick. Great stay, but don't expect the Ritz. "

"East House is a lovely old property. We had a large room with a great view across farm fields (there were cows!), and the sea, you could also see Dunstanburgh castle in the distance. The host was really welcoming and friendly. Despite what it says in the description the beds are fully made up and there is a good supply of towels in the bathroom so you don’t need to bring sheets etc. nice touches in the room included a kettle, coffee, fresh milk, cereals, biscuits, shampoo, hair conditioner,...

"We enjoyed a fantastic 2 night trip over the bank holiday weekend. This was a lovely place to stay, beautifully decorated throughout, VERY comfortable beds, very clean. Its in a peaceful location (2 minutes from the Chillingham cattle visitor centre). Our host Mhairi couldn't have been more thoughtful or welcoming during our stay. "The overall experience at the Garden Rooms was good. We would return, though there were a few things which disappointed us. The large sliding doors to the outside were very difficult to open. We are not feeble but it was almost impossible to slide due to being very heavy and stiff. The room itself smelt very strong of wood smoke from the chimnea, we did not use it during our stay.
