"Stayed one night for an event in the area. The property is a little tired, the walls are thin so you can hear people in other rooms. There is ample parking and the location is great for accessing Alnwick."

"It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area."

"You have to understand you're staying in a heritage building, within a town centre, above a busy, excellent pub/resteraunt. To some extent, the bedroom is a secondary consideration. However, staff very friendly, room warm & comfortable, food excellent and ideal for exploring Alnwick. Great stay, but don't expect the Ritz. "

"Atmospheric rooms, bathroom spotless and coffee machine a nice bonus. Good variety of options for breakfast- I really enjoyed the Craster kippers! Had dinner downstairs which i would recommend, good selection of beers."

"Wasn’t sure what to expect with the lodge. It’s a quiet flat separate from the pub. Split across two levels with a living room, twin bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, and master bedroom upstairs. Tastefully decorated, cosy and in a nice part of town near the shops, bars, cafes and attractions."

"Lovely hotel and very nice staff. Very conveniently located in the town and for visiting the castle. We gave 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) although they allow dogs in the rooms, they're not allowed in the breakfast room so they suggested we either left our dog in our room on her own (which we did and she barked continuously) or we breakfast separately - most places have a dog-friendly eating area; and 2) parking is quite a challenge. Otherwise, a lovely stay."

"I loved this opportunity to stay in Ingram, at the East entrance to the Northumberland National Park. This B&B is luxurious, quiet and lovely, with great food and atmosphere. There is easy access to beautiful walks in and above the Breamish Valley. I would definitely stay here again."

"The pub was very welcoming and made you feel at home. The Tankerville Arms is on the side of the road in a little village which is very quiet. The food and service was excellent and very friendly staff. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We would highly recommend this hotel for a stay"

"We stayed here for two nights to attend a nearby wedding. The accommodation was lovely. Large spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Carolyn was very welcoming and went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend."

Wonderful

"The quintessential B&B experience. From the checking in process to breakfast in the morning it was made to feel like we were a guest in a home, not a business. We loved every minute of it. Location is perfect for the Castle, beach and local businesses. Bed was very comfortable as was the downstairs living area. We didn’t want for anything. Street parking is a little hit or miss, but there isn’t anything our host can do about that, just be prepared for a little walk from your car to the front door depending on season and arrival time. Thanks to Mark and his father, we will be back again for sure. "

Comfy room with great breakfast.

"A very comfy room and the few staff we met were great. Breakfast was excellent and Heather was a gem! A bit disappointing that the hotel is closed apart from the rooms and breakfast service. It’s not that evident when you book so maybe they should make it more obvious. Parking was free in the car park 100 yds away but only for 24hrs at a time. So we parked there through the day and then moved the car to the street outside the hotel which has free parking from 17:30 to 09:00. Our only concern was the fact one person left the front door open twice and with no staff at the hotel we felt a little vulnerable. We would stay again though. "

"We had the pleasure of staying at The Cookie Jar in Alnwick last night, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The hotel itself is stunning, blending charm and elegance beautifully. Every detail is carefully thought out, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner of the hotel felt immaculate, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff were truly outstanding—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring that our stay was perfect. They went above and beyond in every way, making us feel really welcomed and valued. Overall, our time at The Cookie Jar was simply wonderful, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, well-kept place with amazing service, this is the place to come ❤️"
