"Had to make an emergency trip from California to Hilo. My dad was being energency disembarked from a cruise shio where he was near death for 5 days at sea. Fortunately the Holland America medical team were able to keep him alive to Hilo where i met my mom at the ER. Dad is going to make it home eventually. The staff, especially Cindy at the front desk were BEYOND helpful and showed extreme compassion when dealing with my 79 year old mom and making sure she is as taken care of as they could possibly do. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. All we needed was a little confort and quiet after long days at the hospital. The free nightly voucher for a Mai Tai didn't hurt as well. It wasnt a vacation this time, but ill definitely return for one with my wife and kids. Its a very convenient location."

"I love the old Hawaiian look that the Wild Ginger Hotel provides. There were no fancy pictures or decorations but what they did have, gave me a sense of old Hawaii. I enjoyed every bit of staying there and I plan on staying there again."

"The place itself was great. Incredibly relaxing! Breakfast in the porch was so nice! Stay went totally smooth. I wouldn't consider it walkable due to lack of sidewalks. But for those people who are looking to relax and sightsee, I actually think the location is better than in the heart of downtown. It's both close to everything and also "out of the way". "
