"Our room was quiet with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view of the ocean with also the sounds of the ocean waves. The staff was responsive and friendly. So close to Kahalu’u Beach Park with wonderful snorkeling. The room does not have air-conditioning, but it has wonderful louvered windows and a ceiling fan, and also a room fan which we didn’t need in February."

The front bedroom has a window ac unit (though you rarely need it). The other bedroom has blackout shades. The unit has Jalousie windows (very common in Hawaii and tropics). "After having stayed twice before without incident, I had a misunderstanding with the host. On the positive side, this apartment has a nice, well-equipped kitchen, a spacious living room and porch, and a large, but tricky to operate shower. On the negative side, the driveway is steep, and the parking very tight and limited. The towels smell of mildew. "The studio was private, clean, and offered nice amenities. You can tell a lot of care and attention to detail went into the place. The owners were very responsive. We felt very welcome when we arrived, finding a treat and local music playing. The Plumeria cottage was a great place for our two night stay in Kona and had everything needed for someone staying longer. Thank you!"

"Our unit has excellent ocean view watched beautiful Kona sunset every day itself worth price of admission. Kitchen very well stocked, water kettle for tea would be real nice. Facility quite dated but very clean well kept n maintained. Staff mostly friendly helpful. Parking is an adventure each day entrance n exit quite challenging be careful if driving larger vehicle. "This was the perfect location for our stay. We were a 1 mile drive from Magic Sands Beach and 1 mile drive to local shopping, dinning and entertainment! While we chose to drive everywhere, the location is totally walkable to all the attractions. Also, before booking I read reviews, and apparently other condos do not have AC. This one DOES have AC.
