Rural comfort - Luxurious cottage with lovely walks on doorstep

A former dairy building, our cottage has been lovingly upgraded to provide spacious accommodation described by recent guests as 'a hidden gem'. With its own private garden, glorious walks from the front door and high quality furnishings it really is a 'sublime hideaway' (as described by another recent guest). Wine and other little treats greet your arrival. Suitable for couples and dogs welcome. Further info: The cottage has been lovingly converted from a former stable building. We take pride in how beautiful it is looking. Dogs are welcome but must not sit on the furniture and the guests must treat the property with due respect. A total of 2 adults + 1 other occupants (bearing in mind that the extra bed is a 5ft sofa bed) is the maximum number of guests at one time. The property is a No Smoking property. There is however outdoor furniture provided and an attractive terrace area where this is permitted.
There will be plenty of gas supplied for hot water and heating (gas bottles safely stored to rear of property). Sometimes the boiler has difficulty drawing in a new supply but do not worry if this happens. Please turn the hot water tap on in the bathroom, light a gas hob in the kitchen, wait for 30 seconds and then simply press the ignite (🔥) button on the boiler which is in the bathroom cupboard.
There is a WiFi password provided for fast WiFi. This is required for WhatsApp calling. There is no mobile reception at the property itself but the WiFi ensures you can call and message at all times.
I will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay but am contactable either via messaging or by knocking on the main house door should you ever need me.
Many thanks, Mirry 😊

Explore the Borders
Great central location from which to explore the Borders region from Bamburgh to Melrose ; from the Alnwick Gardens to Edinburgh. After a great day exploring to return to our quiet countryside cottage for a relaxing glass while watching the sunset over the hills as the the horses enjoying a late night snack in the paddock and the swifts and bats doing tricks was wonderful . Enjoyed 7 perfect days. Jan and Phill

Lovely
We had a lovely stay. As we visited for an event nearby there wasn’t much time to explore the area but the cottage was a great base. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. The dogs loved the large garden and we would definitely return.

Fantastic cottage
I have had a fantastic stay with my 2 dogs at the Old Nenthorn Cottage. The cottage is spacious, spotlessly clean, very welcoming and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. It is very comfortable, with a great outlook of the wonderful countryside and an excellent base for exploring the Scottish Borders. There are plenty of great dog walks nearby and the beautiful coast is less than 1 hours drive away, so the best of both worlds. I would definitely recommend Old Nenthorn Cottage and if I return to the Scottish Borders in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

Perfect little cottage
Absolutely loved our stay, perfect for the dog, lovely big garden, she loved watching the horses, as well as the many walks on the doorstep. The cottage is so cosy and clean. When we arrived there was wine, cake, crisps and tea left for us, which was a lovely little touch. Thank you for making it a perfect weekend for us, we hope to be back!!

A Piece of Heaven
Beautiful location handy for everything but rural enough to enjoy peace, quiet and tranquility. Quality property, exceeded our expectations couldn’t fault anything. Extremely clean and tidy quality fixtures and fittings, plenty utensils etc. Beautiful welcome pack. Fab garden for our dog, endless nights watching bunny rabbits hopping in the garden and listening to tranquil stream running at the end of the garden. Deers, barn owl, bats and horses,a definite animal lovers haven. Lots of beautiful walks on the door. Couldn’t want for more. Get booking people cause we will definitely be back! Lovely, cozy cottage
Adorable and cozy little cottage with high-quality finishes throughout. We very much appreciated the goodies that awaited us upon arrival. We brought our dog with us and took advantage of the proximity to Edinburgh. Nearby Kelso has lots to offer, and we absolutely loved the seclusion of the cottage, despite its proximity to all of the activities!

Great property for a quiet stay.
Lovely cottage for two people. Great welcome pack left by owners. Lovely area, quiet with great walks and scenery. Kelso is nearby which is one of the better Borders towns. Cottage is advertised as having wifi however this is not really the case. It's VERY limited, doesn't support streaming or anything apart from occasional emails. Also, no phone signal on most networks. The owners black lab likes the cottage too and despite being chased, wandered in several times over the weekend much to our dogs annoyance. The weather was so warm we had the doors open for air. All in all, good break with amazing weather.

Comfortable cottage in a location great for exploring the Borders, Northumberland and Coastal areas
Great rural, quite location. Ideal for walking our dog and exploring the Borders, Northumberland National Park and Coastal areas. Cottage itself was comfortable with quality accessories such as the bed, towels, feather pillows and duvet. Miranda was helpful and very welcoming. We had a lovely holiday and would highly recommend this cottage.

A great place to relax
The welcome pack was the best we have ever had in 30 years of self catering...home made scones, a bottle of Prosecco, jam, butter and Cornish clotted cream - a touch of class. Also included milk, bread, crisps and lots of different teas. The cottage is clean and cosy. No cheating on quality., everything was put in with care. King size comfy bed with high quality bedding. The wood burner in the lounge was fabulous..given we had a few minus zero evenings/nights. Lots of walks on your doorstep and our collie enjoyed just snuffling about to his heart's content. Took the opportunity of doing all the walks recommended by the owner. No need to move your car for good walks, Reasonable Internet but limited to no mobile signal in the cottage. That was perfect...no one could get hold of me from work! Kelso is about 8 minutes drive away and there are shops to stock up. So no need to bring lots of supplies. I would certainly return for a period of relaxation...great for stress busting.

We had a nice time staying here. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Great for walks and to chill out. If you are wanting to go into Kelso or any other towns then you do need to go by car. I would recommend this for a nice relaxing break.
