Room is big but dust is easy found, air conditioning not quite function. Great for kids, but most of the activities need to register & pay extra. Unfortunately the breakfast rooms were at least 500 metres away, I was in the South wing and all the breakfast places were in the North wing. Pro: beautiful hotel, great views, good breakfast (didn’t eat dinner there as the menu is not to our liking) Con: as mentioned by other guests, the room is only suitable for couples. "A really pleasant hotel close to lake Toya. The traditional Japanese room was excellent to experience and the onsen with its both indoor and outdoor baths were phenomenal. There were other amenities such as free bike rentals to take advantage of. "It was a traditional Japanese room where you sleep on a futon on a tatami floor. The room was beautiful with a nice sitting balcony room that overlooked the side of the mountain. The only problem was the smell of the dust that gathered on or inside the tatami. We don't know whether this is normal and we just aren't used to sleeping in a tatami room."

"Property is a 10 minute drive away from the heavily touristed area. Perfect for us. The hosts are wonderful and the food is amazing. We got the half board (dinner and breakfast) for four. Amazing. Cabins are all built using huge logs. A tad rustic but with amazing soaking tub plus modern toilets. We stayed in summer. No A/c but temps were cool. Highly recommend and would stay again. "
