To our surprise, we were within 3 minute walk to the best parts of Catania with good restaurants, lively action, and lots of things going on. No real danger but hardly ideal..The hotel itself is a grand old palazzo with many beautiful features, especially the interior gardens. It's only a 15 minute walk to the nicer parts of Catania. I'd stay here again."

"This property is not as promoted in their photos online. There was a pool advertised and no pool to be found. The outside of the hotel resembles a penitentiary, the maximum security kind (again, not as presented in photos). The center piece outside is a column of rusted gas or electric meters that frame the entrance to give you that charming feel of early 90s Beirut. The staff overall was marginally hospitable and did the bare minimum to make you feel welcome. I was given a handicapped room...

"The property has to be considered within the price, which is the lowest I paid in Sicily. For that it is reasonable. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There was parking which I appreciated. But, the place was quite run down - mould and flaking paint etc. No breakfast, and the closest shop you have to walk on a terrifying road with no pavement where you think every car might run you down. But, the price is certainly fair. Best for solo travellers."
