"Lovely old hotel, and very comfortable - but note this does mean it doesn't have a lift, so you may want to request a room on the first floor if stairs are a difficulty. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Great location in the centre of Lewes (though remember Lewes is built on a hill, and it's at the top of the hill)."

"The hotel and grounds itself are very beautiful with modern decor. The breakfast was a good selection and the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Check-in was quick and easy and we received a quick tour of the hotel. The local knowledge could have been better, when we asked for a local restaurant recommendation we didnt expect to be referred to a chain restaurant, we did go for a walk and settle on a local Thai restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return if we visited...
