Even if the plaza in front doesn't have anything interesting, it was a short walk from many other attractions and neighbourhoods. Plus there is a metro and the start of the tram line 28. You are a few minutes walk from from Avenida de Liberdade and the metro station there, and also from Martim Moniz square and station, making all the key places in Lisbon easily accessible. The neighbourhood itself is surprisingly quiet at night despite being so central, so you're not in a party area like Barrio Alto.
