Bring the little ones to this exciting museum to role play as doctors, make art with light and run through a fountain.

The Omaha Children’s Museum is a fun and enlightening establishment with the aim of encouraging learning in young kids. It has an artistic center with a theater and a technology and science area, among other exhibits that teach children through entertaining and interactive methods. Bring your young ones to this creative hub and watch them thrive in the enjoyable and motivational environment.

Visit the Charlie Campbell Science & Technology Center to use the Super Gravitron ball machine, one of the museum’s highlights. This large machine shoots out colorful balls using a variety of forces. Watch your kids get involved with the interactive videos and science shows.

Bring the younger kids to the Imagination Playground, which allows them to role play in a hospital, a bank and a barn. In the Creative Arts Center children play with light and paint to make their own works of art. Encourage your little ones to consider their potential in the Fantastic Future Me section. It enables them to imagine their future careers and passions.

Another highlight is the Walker Tire and Auto Service Center, where youngsters can work on model cars and create their own license plates. On a warm, sunny day, head outside to Sandy’s Splish Splash Garden. Make sure to bring bathing suits, so your kids can frolic in the jets and sprays of the water feature.

The site opens Tuesday through Sunday from morning until late afternoon. There is a fee for adults and children, while toddlers can enter for free.

The Omaha Children’s Museum is between the Midtown district and the Missouri River in the center of the city. It is a little west of the Old Market zone and is about a 1-mile (1.6-kilometer) walk northwest from the Omaha railway station. See some of the nearby landmarks, including Gene Leahy Mall, the Durham Museum and the Orpheum Theater.
