"Driving up to the building it is very impressive. It is a beautiful building and setting. However, no signage about where reception is so wandering around with a heavy case not great. Room was beautiful but it lacked the luxury advertised. No glasses for water or in the bathroom. No tissues. Basic tea and coffee. "This is such a wonderful gem in the lovely village of Painswick! The room is spacious and welcoming, so comfortable after a day of traveling! The owner is engaging and provides a perfect stay for travelers. Convenient dining options in the village within a 5 minute walk was an extra bonus. "Food was really gorgeous. We had breakfast, dinner and cream tea there. All excellent. Room was very comfortable but small. Hotel garden lovely. Drinks great. Service was haphazard: often had to go inside to seek or give a food order, or request cutlery once food had come etc, as hard to flag someone down once we’d been seated/served. Some staff were welcoming, some were brusk. Hotel in beautiful town and was a lovely place. Overall, would go again. "
