"The staff were great and room 22 was perfect with a large bed and plenty of space. We ate at the hotel on our second night and the food was tasty and sufficient. However one meal came out cold and had to be reheated. Our waitress did give us a discount for this. On our last morning there was no water, but not the hotel’s fault as a main had burst. Overall a very nice experience."

"On arrival staff were helpful and very friendly. We arrived a little early and they let us check in to our room which was spacious and very comfortable. We then had a drink in the bar area which had a lovely log fire which made it very cozy and pleasant. We were then asked if we would like to book a table reservation for the evening which we did and throughly enjoyed our evening meal only down side it wasn’t table service and you had to order food at the bar . "DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE IT IS CLOSED. After a 20 mile day on a walking trip we turned up to find the place closed. On contacting hotels.com they spent 45 minutes trying to find us alternative accomodation and having failed they hung up and never called us back. Left stranded and getting dark we could only find a place 40 miles away available and had to sort transport to and from ourselves which left us £200 out of pocket let alone a massive inconvenience. Hotels.com have still not called us...
