We arrived after having to get our own transportation, which we had pre-arranged and the hotel lost. When they let me know what room I had, they mentioned there was no window(!) So of course I was charged extra to get a room with a window. Then there was the part about my booking about my reservation not being all-inclusive. Which most of the staff made me uncomfortable about. The hotel is one of the originals, so it's a bit out dated. All in all this was an average stay if not for the beautiful ocean that made up for it. I would not recommend this hotel. And I feel they should let travelers know about rooms without a window. That might be important to someone.

Have been to lots of all inclusive resorts and this had some of the best food. Also has two amazing rooftop bars (adults only). The beach is not as good as some others, but overall it was great.

We stayed entirely within the resort. Staff superb. Beach and pool were excellent as was our room. Food was inconsistent. Breakfasts were great. Lunch time service and cook outs very good. Dinners, however, were mostly very average. But no easy access to town or its restaurants.

The staff is awesome and they make you feel like your second home. We will continue to recommend this hotel to all of our friends. We are already planning our next trip and we just got back home today.

We have stayed here before multiple times. Family of four with littles a few years back and now teens. The property is clean and well maintained. For an older property this is a must. Our house keeper Nora was excellent and maintained the high standards that the Royal is known for. This last visit the service was lacking. We had to request service multiple times, and if you wanted to keep the drinks flowing, either alcoholic or none, you are better off just going directly to one of the bars yourself. The dining options are limited, and this is well known for this location, but in the past the food was much better, so it didn't matter. Clearly the food options are in transition along with the service ranks. Lastly, the beach was not maintained, especially when compared to both adjacent properties. Just too much algae and no effort for medigation, at least while we were there. It was made clear to us from the very first interactions, that the property had been purchased by another much larger corporation, as if that was their excuse for all the changes. Only time will tell for this location if we will be back or not.
