"I am a woman in my 60s and I was treated very kindly and upgraded to a king when I had booked a queen. I’m here for UCSF after a surgery and was pleasantly surprised at the neighborhood feel, convenience of restaurants, and walkability of the area. Love the free parking, the wonderful smaller square pillows that were so moldable and comfortable to sleep on, and how my needs were perfectly accommodated.
I stay lots of different places on my frequent trips to San Francisco, always looking for value without sacrificing comfort or safety, and this hits all the marks. It is an older property and isn’t fancy, but I felt safe and comfortable here and would return again without hesitation.
Many thanks to the proprietor and staff!"
"Happy to have chosen this place. It was our first time staying here and we were able to get the full city experience. Easy to walk everywhere even with our two kids."
"Beautiful historic hotel within walking distance of the Masonic. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and beautiful and our room had a nice view of the city. The only thing I didn’t like was the smell of the shampoo and soap provided by the hotel. "
"We’ve stayed at the Hotel Majestic several times and always enjoy our visits. The hotel is elegant, clean, and the retro charm creates such a unique and welcoming atmosphere. We especially love the coffee maker in the lobby—hot chocolate cartridges are such a fun touch!
Just a couple of suggestions for the queen rooms:
It would be really helpful to have bedside lamps with built-in outlets or USB ports. You could still keep the vintage look by adding a retro-style lampshade. I ended up charging my phone and watch in the bathroom, which wasn’t very convenient.
Also, a small table or shelf in the bathroom would make a big difference. The little ledge above the sink doesn’t offer enough space for two people’s toiletries or makeup bags.
Looking forward to our next stay—it’s always a pleasure!"
